The Hitchhiking Blogger's Guide To IBM Blogs

IBM now maintains a public index of blogs here. I'll maintain this listing for a while longer just for historical purposes, but I recommend that you refer to their listing from now on. Thanks for dropping by.

IBM is big. Really big. You won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. So is the IBM web site. With the IBM web site being as mind-bogglingly big as it is, the chances of finding exactly what you are looking for within 30 seconds, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of time that a hitchhiking blogger can survive in a total information void, are two to the power of two hundred and seventy-six thousand, seven hundred and nine to one against.

With the recent announcement and corresponding publicity surrounding the announcement of IBM's new blogging initiative, one might think that the above-mentioned odds would be mitigated by an IBM web page containing a comprehensive index of information about IBM blogs and bloggers, but one would be wrong. At least as of now, there is no such page. It's enough to depress a brain the size of Blue Gene, actually. What is needed is a directory of IBM blogs, with the words "Don't Panic" inscribed in large friendly letters on the front cover. Unfortunately, this is a web page, and we have no front cover and we can't really inscribe anything. But we can use HTML.

Don't Panic

This, like any other hitchhiker's guide is a work-in-progress, It's still a bit messy, and likely to remain so, actually, but you do have your towel with you, right? It is an informal and unofficial index of IBM blogs that I am aware of. Any fellow hitchhikers who are aware of any other official or personal blogs maintained by any IBM employees are welcome to send me the info for inclusion in this index. Also, I haven't put feed URLs up, yet, but I will,

Allow me to repeat myself. Or don't. It doesn't matter whether you allow it or not, I'm just going to do it. This is not official in any way shape or form. I am not an IBM employee, and this is not an IBM site. I take no responsibility for the accuracy of any content in any blog linked from here. Or for the attitude, either. Descriptions of blog content here either are my own, are provided by friends or colleagues of my choosing, or are taken from the blog owner's own published description. That's if they exist at all, which, as of now, most of them don't.

Finally, and this is important, so please make sure that your brain-waves are properly in tune with your translating Babelfish: I am not offering or intending to serve as a source for any additional information about IBM, IBM blog policies, IBM blog sites, IBM bloggers, how to contact IBM bloggers, content found on IBMer blogs, etc. Nor am I intending to serve as a contact point for any complaints about any of the above. If this page helps you find something or someone, that's great. If it doesn't, there's always Google.
